When you create an account, we collect your email address and any profile information you provide. We also store the date ideas you generate and save to your Bucket List, your planned dates, and Couple Mode connections.
When you contact us via our contact form, we collect your name, email address, and the contents of your message. This information is used solely to respond to your inquiry.
Your data is used solely to provide DateWhim functionality: generating personalized date ideas, storing your saved ideas, and enabling Couple Mode with your partner. We do not sell your data to third parties.
When you generate a date idea, your filter selections (vibe, budget, etc.) are sent to Anthropic's Claude API to produce a suggestion. Anthropic acts as a data processor for this request under its commercial terms and data processing addendum. We do not send your personal profile information to the AI, and prompts are not used to train Anthropic's models under our API terms. Anthropic's data use policies apply to this processing. We use PostHog to understand how the app is used (which features are popular, where users drop off). Until you make a choice in the cookie banner, we only count page loads: no cookie or other identifier is stored on your device and your IP address is not recorded. If you accept analytics, PostHog stores a random identifier in your browser so that sessions and returning visits can be measured. This data is used only to improve the product. You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing your browser storage for this site or by contacting us. PostHog's privacy policy is available at posthog.com/privacy.
Premium subscriptions are processed by LemonSqueezy. We do not store your payment card details. All payment information is handled directly by LemonSqueezy in accordance with PCI-DSS standards. LemonSqueezy's privacy policy applies to payment processing.
Your data is stored securely via Supabase (PostgreSQL hosted on AWS). Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all personal data associated with it is permanently deleted within 30 days.

DateWhim uses session cookies required for authentication (Supabase auth) and, only after you accept them in the cookie banner, analytics cookies (PostHog). Authentication cookies are strictly necessary for the service to function. Analytics cookies help us understand usage patterns and are never set before your consent. You can decline analytics cookies in the banner or disable cookies in your browser settings, though the latter may affect sign-in.
